I have been an educator for more than two decades working as the lead instructor in middle school through college classrooms and as a professional tutor. I was also the coordinator of two college tutoring programs with a staff of 20-30 tutors that I trained and mentored.

I am College & Reading Language Association (CRLA) certified at the highest level, and I have certified dozens of tutors in this internationally recognized tutor training program.

I hold a master's degree in Humanistic Psychology where I was trained in client-centered approaches. I have used this training extensively in educational settings..

​

My specializations include:

• differentiated learning

• executive functioning support/coaching

• autism support

• writing at all levels from middle school through college

• ELA courses including short story, poetry, and literature

• history/social studies courses

• humanities (especially psychology)

• English language learners

• International students

I am a full time ELA/History teacher at a school for unique learners (both gifted and those with learning disabilities).

About me personally:

• I was a senior journalist and editor-in-chief of an international media company in Europe

• I'm a published poet

• I have traveled extensively to and lived in India

• I started a women's co-op in Nicaragua

• ...and I have a child who is "twice exceptional" (gifted with ADHD) who fueled my passion for supporting student success
